"Showed Up Late, But Whatever"
The package came late, which was annoying at first. I was checking the tracking like, okay, where is this thing? But then it finally showed up and I was like, fine, I guess we're good now.

My stuff arrived totally fine, so no complaints there. But the return process felt a liiittle more annoying than I expected. It wasn’t terrible or anything, I just wish the policy had been clearer before I placed my order.

"I had to return a jacket..."
I had to return a jacket, the process itself was straightforward. Getting the return label was easy, and I liked that I didn’t have to call customer service or jump through a bunch of hoops. From my side, the only frustrating part was how long it took to get the refund back. Maybe I’m just used to faster returns, but it felt slower than I expected. Overall, it was fine, not a bad experience, just not anything special either.

"Warranty help was actually easy"
My jacket zipper gave out after only a few months, and I was ready for the whole thing to be a hassle. I mean, I figured warranty stuff usually turns into a back-and-forth mess.
But Backcountry support got back to me quickly, asked for a couple photos and my order info, and then they helped get the claim started. No weird runaround, no— well, no making me explain the same thing over and over.
It did take a little time, but they kept me updated along the way and got it sorted out. i was happy with how easy they made it.

"Fit notes actually helped"
I wasn’t totally sure what size to get in the jacket, but the fit notes were surprisingly useful. I went with a medium and it fits really well. happy with it. ALSO, why is sizing usually such a guessing game? Anyway, this one worked out.

"Backorder Went Way Smoother Than Expected"
I had a pair of boots on backorder and thought it was going to turn into a whole hassle, but Backcountry kept me in the loop the entire time. My brother even asked how the order was going because he’d been eyeing the same pair, and I was able to tell him they actually shipped sooner than expected. Easy experience overall, no complaints...

"Return was way easier than I expected"
I had to return a jacket because it didn’t fit, i was already thinking, great, this is going to take forever. But backcountry made it surprisingly simple. No weird back-and-forth, no hassle, and the refund came through way faster than I expected. Definitely a nice little relief

"I chatted with one of their gearheads…"
I chatted with one of their gearheads before ordering new hiking boots, the advice was actually helpful. They steered me away from the wrong size, which probably saved me a return right away. Based on that one experience, I’d say they really know their stuff when it comes to outdoor gear. Shipping was quick too. The only reason I’m giving 4 stars is because it took a little longer than expected to get a return label for some socks...
"Getting a reply shouldn’t be this hard"
I reached out to customer service thinking it would be a simple thing to sort out, but they never got back to me. It’s frustrating when all you need is a basic response and even that turns into a hassle

"Mostly fine, but wrong color arrived??"
My order from Backcountry was mostly right, but one of the items showed up in the wrong color?? The size was correct and everything else seemed fine, and shipping was okay too. It wasn’t a huge deal, but having to deal with the return process was kind of annoying, you know??

"Issue was handled smoothly"
I ordered a jacket from backcountry and it arrived with a small tear near the pocket, which was frustrating since I needed it for a trip that same week. I sent photos over to support and they got back to me the next day. They gave me the option of a refund or replacement, and I went with the replacement. The return label was simple to use, and overall the process was a smooth experience. The new jacket showed up in good shape. I do wish it hadn’t happened in the first place, but they fixed it without turning it into a hassle, so I’d still give them 4 stars

I don’t know if it was just the day I went, but the selection felt thin. I was looking for my usual hiking stuff and just couldn’t find what I needed. Has anyone else noticed that lately, or did I just catch them at a bad time?

"Pretty solid selection overall"
I usually have a good experience finding the sizes and colors I need on Backcountry, which is really nice. A couple of items I wanted did sell out fast, but overall the inventory has been solid. I’d give it 4 stars.

"Pretty good jacket, but the details could be clearer"
I ordered a jacket from Backcountry, and overall the product page was mostly right. The color looked like what I expected, the brand info matched, and the sizing notes were actually kind of helpful. But then again, the fabric felt lighter than I thought it would based on the description. Also, there was one feature on the jacket that wasn’t explained super clearly, and I only really noticed it once I had it in my hands. Not a bad experience at all, and I still like the jacket, but I do think the product details could be a little more precise before you decide to buy.

"Solid gear, especially when I didn’t have energy to deal with returns"
I ordered a jacket and a few pairs of hiking socks from Backcountry, everything showed up looking solid. I’ve been feeling mentally drained lately, so I was really hoping this wouldn’t turn into one of those annoying online order situations, and thankfully it didn’t. The jacket has clean stitching, the zipper feels sturdy, and the socks held up fine after washing without getting weird or misshapen. I’ve worn them on a few cold walks already and haven’t had any issues. The prices aren’t always the cheapest, but the quality seems worth it. I’d order from them again.
